What VIT students should know

VIT grading system
VIT's 10-point scale assigns S = 10.0 (90–100), A = 9.0 (80–89), B = 8.0 (70–79), and F = 0.0 below 50%. An E grade (5.0 points) still passes but hurts placement shortlists. Because the scale is out of 10, a 8.5 CGPA is strong — do not compare directly with a 4.0-scale US GPA without conversion.

Percentage conversion
A common rough conversion is (CGPA / 10) × 100, so 8.50 CGPA ≈ 85%. VIT placement slides sometimes use different formulas for specific companies. Download your official grade sheet from VTOP when a form asks for "aggregate percentage."
