Worked example

  • Development Economics4 cr · A (4.00 pts)
  • Microeconomics3 cr · B+ (3.30 pts)

((4 × 4.00) + (3 × 3.30)) ÷ 7 = 3.70

About the AU CGPA Calculator

HEC-recognized university for aviation and engineering programs.

Air University Islamabad (AU) is an HEC-recognised public university specialising in aviation, aerospace, and engineering programmes with Pakistan Air Force affiliation. Air University grades on the standard HEC 4.0 framework with plus/minus letter bands. Use this calculator when you need semester GPA or cumulative CGPA aligned with Air University quality-point rules before results publish on the student portal. Wrong scale? What AU students should know

Air University programmes combine rigorous engineering curricula with aviation-specific courses — credit loads vary between avionics, CS, and management tracks. Discipline and attendance policies can affect exam eligibility, but GPA math uses published letter grades and credits once results are official. Students applying for PAF-linked careers or civilian aerospace roles should export sealed AU transcripts.

How to use this calculator

  1. Open Semester GPA and enter each course with credit hours from your Air University LMS.
  2. Select HEC letter grades — A = 4.00 (90–100), F below 45 = 0.00.
  3. Switch to CGPA to aggregate multiple semesters — weight by credits, not by semester count.
  4. For HEC attestation or employer verification, request official Air University transcripts.

AU grading system

Air University follows the HEC Pakistan 4.0 scale: A = 4.00, A- = 3.70, B+ = 3.30, B- = 2.70, and F (below 45) = 0.00. D- at 45–52% carries 0.70 points — technically passing but weak for competitive aerospace internships.

The math behind semester GPA and cumulative CGPA is the same across most universities — see our CGPA formula guide for a worked example. For broader planning tips, read the complete CGPA guide on the homepage or browse student articles on the blog.

Percentage conversion

Air University transcripts emphasise CGPA and letter grades. HEC-affiliated universities each handle percentage conversion differently — ask AU examinations for official letters when forms require certified conversion.
