What FAST students should know

FAST curricula are intensive — multiple programming, theory, and lab courses per semester with strict attendance and assessment policies. CS programmes often have higher credit loads than management tracks. Students comparing FAST CGPA with LUMS or NUST should remember cohort difficulty differs even when scales look similar.

How to use this calculator

  1. Choose Semester GPA and enter each course with credit hours from your FAST LMS grade report.
  2. Select HEC letter grades as published — A = 4.00 down to F below 45 = 0.00.
  3. Switch to CGPA to track cumulative standing across all FAST semesters.
  4. Cross-check with the FAST portal before submitting internship or higher-study application forms.

FAST grading system

FAST follows the HEC Pakistan 4.0 scale: A (90–100) = 4.00, A- = 3.70, B+ = 3.30, B- = 2.70, and F (below 45) = 0.00. Because FAST admission is competitive, grade distributions can be compressed — a 3.30 CGPA may still reflect solid performance.

The math behind semester GPA and cumulative CGPA is the same across most universities — see our CGPA formula guide for a worked example. For broader planning tips, read the complete CGPA guide on the homepage or browse student articles on the blog.

Percentage conversion

FAST transcripts emphasise CGPA. Some tech employers accept informal CGPA × 20 conversions — request an official letter from FAST examinations for verified percentage when required.
