What UTAR students should know
UTAR's scale looks like IPTA at first glance but the points differ: A- earns 3.70 (not 3.67), there is no C- band, and D sits at 45–49%. Mixing UTAR letters with an IPTA calculator silently skews results — always use the UTAR table here. UTAR programmes blend coursework and finals into one letter per subject; foundation, diploma, and degree levels share the same grade-point mapping.
How to use this calculator
- Open Semester GPA and list each subject with credit hours from your UTAR portal.
- Match UTAR letters exactly: A (80–100) = 4.00, A- (75–79) = 3.70, B+ (70–74) = 3.30, B (65–69) = 3.00, B- (60–64) = 2.70, C+ (55–59) = 2.30, C (50–54) = 2.00, D (45–49) = 1.00, F (below 45) = 0.00.

- Official UTAR transcripts are required for employment and further-study applications.
UTAR grading system
UTAR publishes its own 4.0 scale: A = 4.00, A- = 3.70, B+ = 3.30, B = 3.00, B- = 2.70, C+ = 2.30, C = 2.00, D = 1.00 (45–49%), F = 0.00 (below 45%). Key differences from IPTA: A- is 3.70 not 3.67, there is no C- grade, and the D band starts at 45%. These small gaps change borderline GPAs.

Percentage conversion
UTAR transcripts show letter grades and CGPA. The CGPA × 25 shortcut is unofficial — UTAR's Division of Examinations can issue certified documents when a percentage is formally required.
