What IUB students should know
IUB follows a credit-hour system where most undergraduate courses carry 3 credits. Your GPA is credit-weighted: a B- in a 3-credit core course hurts more than the same grade in a 1-credit elective. IUB's bands are forgiving at the bottom — a D still earns grade points down to 45% — but anything below 45% is an F at 0.00 and will drag your cumulative average until you pass the course.

IUB grading system
IUB grades on a 4.0 scale with 5-mark bands: A (90–100) = 4.00, A- (85–89) = 3.70, B+ (80–84) = 3.30, B (75–79) = 3.00, B- (70–74) = 2.70, C+ (65–69) = 2.30, C (60–64) = 2.00, C- (55–59) = 1.70, D+ (50–54) = 1.30, D (45–49) = 1.00, F (below 45) = 0.00. The scale is more generous than NSU's at the top and more forgiving than the UGC public scale at the bottom.

Percentage conversion
IUB transcripts report letter grades and CGPA. For informal estimates, Bangladeshi students often use CGPA × 25, but IUB does not certify that conversion — get an official letter from the registrar when applications require a percentage.
