About the SUST CGPA Calculator
Top science and technology university in Sylhet following the national UGC grading policy.
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet is Bangladesh's first science and technology university, blending strong physics, chemistry, and CSE programmes with a growing business faculty. SUST follows the national UGC 4.0 grading table — semester GPA is computed from credit-weighted grade points, not a flat average of percentage marks. Use this calculator to check results before the SUST portal updates. Wrong scale? Tell us — or browse more Bangladesh calculators.
What SUST students should know
SUST's campus culture emphasises research and laboratory work — many science programmes carry practical credits alongside theory. Business and social science units may use different course loads than pure science tracks. If you are applying for the Japanese MEXT scholarship or other programmes that cite CGPA, export an official SUST transcript; this tool gives planning numbers only.
How to use this calculator
- Choose Semester GPA and add each course with credits from your SUST registration slip.
- Map letter grades to the UGC table — A+ (80–100) = 4.00, F below 40% = 0.00.
- Switch to CGPA to combine semesters into a running cumulative average weighted by credits.
- For government or private scholarship forms, attach official SUST marksheets rather than calculator output.
SUST grading system
SUST follows the UGC Standard Grading System on a 4.0 scale. An A+ earns 4.00 grade points; D at 40–44% carries 2.00. Science programmes with heavy lab credits mean one weak practical grade can affect CGPA disproportionally — enter every graded course separately if labs appear on your transcript.
The math behind semester GPA and cumulative CGPA is the same across most universities — see our CGPA formula guide for a worked example. For broader planning tips, read the complete CGPA guide on the homepage or browse student articles on the blog.
Percentage conversion
SUST students often estimate percentage as CGPA × 25 for informal comparisons. Official SUST documents may not publish percentage — use letter grades and CGPA on forms unless your faculty specifies a certified multiplier.
